In this video we drive the famous Brenner Pass on our way from Austria to Italy. The Brenner Pass is an important North-South link in Europe for both freight and leisure traffic. Especially in the summer months it can be quite congested. In this longer video we start around Innsbruck and end around Brixen (Bressanone) in the Italian Dolomiti.

The Brenner Pass has a maximum altitude of 1370 meters, which is fairly high for a motorway in Europe. In 2006 (2011) construction of the Brenner Base Tunnel started. It's a 64 kilometers long train tunnel from Austria to Italy that should significantly cut travel time for trains and freight, and also reduce the amount of freight traffic on the Brenner Pass. It's due for completion in 2025.

As you can see in the video, traffic is light and there is also still some snow on the mountain tops. This is because this video was made in the low season (May). I hope you enjoy this scenic drive along and let me know what other driving videos you would like to see!
