Judy Hopps has dreamed of becoming a police officer since childhood, even though in a world where huge predators and small prey animals live side by side, a rabbit from a provincial farming family is hardly seen as a future guardian of the law. After earning her place in the Zootopia Police Department, she quickly realizes that the big city is more complicated than its beautiful promises: instead of serious investigations, she is assigned to write parking tickets, while her colleagues doubt her abilities. Her chance to prove herself comes when predators begin mysteriously disappearing across the city, and Judy teams up with Nick Wilde, a sly fox con artist who knows the streets better than any police officer. Their investigation gradually exposes the fears, prejudices, and hidden mechanisms of power in a society where outward equality does not erase distrust, and true courage begins with the willingness to admit one’s own mistakes.
