Obituary for Robert Sebastian Ynacay
Sgt Maj was reunited with his wife, Edith (Love Muffin) on August 10, 2014.
Bob was born in Portland Oregon in 1933 to Lauro and Lucy Ynacay. Bob and Edith met and married in Hawaii.
Bob enlisted into the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. After 30 years of active duty, he retired. His military career was

extraordinary. He fought in the Korean War and Vietnam War. His leadership and courage was recognized by receipt of the Silver Star. Bob had a

variety of assignments, including Embassy duty in Brazil. Many of the marines and sailors who served and fought with the “Gunny” respected him

for his experience, knowledge, and wisdom. Bob was active in many Marine Corps associations.
Upon retirement, Bob had pursued a Bachelor degree in liberal arts; he enjoyed learning other languages. Bob also enjoyed traveling to foreign

countries, with Edith or solo, he always enjoyed sharing his personal adventures to others.
Bob love to work in his garden, care for his dogs (girls), and work on jig saw puzzles. He had a special fondness for children, frequently

providing opportunities to expand their experience.
Bob is preceded in death by Edith Ynacay (wife), Lauro Ynacay (father), Lucy Ynacay (mother), Elizabeth (sister), and “Junior” (twin brother).
Bob is survived by his children Robert Ynacay, Jr. (Ruth), Robin Ynacay-Nye (Ron) and Richard Ynacay (Margaret), as well as nine grandchildren

and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Verna, Leilani and Miley.
Dixie Forest was a close and caring companion.
