Using Dexron III/Mercon Transmission Fluid in a Ford that calls for Mercon V?

I use Dex3 Merc in my 2002 F-150 that calls for Merc V since it was new was new and done regular drop and fills. It now has 520,000 miles on it and I have had zero transmission problems. I thought is was about 320,000, but recently got the mileage out of the computer. The odometer quit working on this truck a long time ago. Your results may vary but this is what I have done.
