In the Proton- Proton Cycle, one proton combines with another proton gives Deuteron, Positron and Neutrino. This Deuteron combines with another proton producing Helium. That is 2He3 releasing gamma rays. This helium combines with another similar helium producing an alpha particle. That is 2He4 and releasing two protons.
The reaction cycle is written as
Four 1H1 → 2He4 + Two 1e0 + 2ν + energy (26.7 MeV that is million electron volts)

Thus four protons fuse together to form an alpha particle and two positrons with a release of large amount of energy.
