Four and a half years ago we started to consider moving to Russia
It was on our first winter trip and Anita and I were not yet married.
about two years later and we were getting Visas and flying to Russia with only what we could fit in a suitcase. We spent the first year studying the Russian language before taking a language test and applying for temporary residence (РВП).
Unfortunately around that time the pandemic hit and travel around the world ground to a halt. Anita's parents had travelled back to Australia to sell the family farm and were stranded overseas. We never heard back about our Russian residency application and so
we spent most of 2020 studying Russian and waiting for things to go back to normal.
We hit a crisis early this year which led to @RussianHomesteadFamily making a video to the Russian President. We were then contacted by many tv channels and journalists.
I am not sure if the publicity helped but the thousands of people voicing their support for us and our desire to become citizens was very touching.
We have spent the last month or so gathering the required documents to be able to apply for residency and this video is the culmination of that.
