"Die Baltenfahne", popularly known as "Die Grenzwacht wird im Osten" is a poem by Karl Freiherr von Manteuffel (related to Baron Hans von Manteuffel-Szoege ) which he wrote in 1920. It is set in the Baltic States during the liberation of Riga from the Red Army in 1919, in which officer Baron Hans von Manteuffel-Szoege took part with his 1st German Baltic Combat Battalion of the Baltische Landeswehr and died in the fighting.

The Baltic Landwehr or Baltische Landeswehr was the name of the unified armed forces of Couronian and Livonian nobility from 7 December 1918 to 3 July 1919.
