Today on our 2015 Kia Sorento we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers RRVA118B-2, these are the vortex arrow cross bars, but they also come in silver as part number RRVA118S-2. We also have part number RRSX009, these are the SX series legs for the vortex arrow cross bars, particularly for the factory raised side rails. We already have the front one installed. You can see that our cross bar here has a nice aerodynamic shape to it, and that's going to cut down wind noise and drag while you're driving. Combined with the rear cross bar, it has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds. Now, you want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that the roof can withstand that kind of weight. Let's go ahead and show you how the rear one goes on, and we already have it partially assembled on our table over here. We'll take our leg here, we'll make sure that this end fits into the T slot end of our cross bar.

Just line them up and just push them into place, making sure that they're open all the way. Now we'll go ahead and set this on our vehicle. Now, there's no particular place that we're setting this right now, we're just getting them into place. All right, next we're going to go ahead and get our cross bar spread, and that's going to be from center of the cross bar to center of the cross bar, just to keep them even and parallel. Now, there's no real set measurement here. Just go by whatever accessory you're putting on your roof, and go by its recommendations.

We'll repeat this on the other side. All right, our final step is we're going to go ahead and take care of our cross bar overhang, and that's how much of the actual cross bar itself is sticking out past the leg. We'll kind of eyeball it first, and then we'll take some measurements to be sure that we're accurate. That looks good there. All right, now we can start tightening it down. We'll take our included tightening tool with the blue handle here, and you'll see that it has a curved edge here. Once it's tightened down to where it needs to be, this edge will straighten out and you'll know that it's torqued to its proper setting.

Tighten down the bolts on the inside. This can take a second since we had them fully open. Some accessories that you can put on these cross bars are some things such as bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, cargo baskets, enclosed cargo boxes, and even watersports carriers such as kayaks and canoes. Although, always double check your weight rating to make sure you're not going over it. You can see there it straightened out, so it's nice and tight. I'll repeat this on the other side. Pretty much what roof racks are great for is being able to place stuff on your roof so you can free up space in your car to make more for you and your family, like camping gear, luggage, that kind of thing.

One of the nicest things about these bars, very easy to install, very easy to take off if you don't need them anymore, or at least until the next trip. Our final step is we're going to go ahead and put in our end caps. You push them in like so and just lock them in with the included tool, and you're ready to go.
