The rarest and most premium tea produced in Ceylon is Silver Tips. It is entirely handmade using the tender buds of a special varietal of the tea plant.

Each unopened bud is expertly handpicked before sunrise and placed in a special cotton pouch to protect their coating of silvery downs. They are then spread out on a wooden surface and dried using filtered sunlight for a few hours each day. This careful process is carried out for a period of 4 to 5 days until the buds, otherwise known as tips, acquire their unique character.
