My favorite part of the film: the end credits direction, cinematography, and particularly the music.

Lennie Niehaus' simultaneously weighty and wispy strains meld seamlessly with Surtees' steely-canvased photography as the Preacher rides off into the chilling gloom, generating that classically bleak anti-heroness. The effort doesn't let up until the final fade out, where the ending frames and notes subtly suggest the hero is still out there somewhere and may return.
