Yamaha R-N602 fails to turn on (remote control)

This video shows my Yamaha R-N602 not powering on from standby when the power button on the remote is pressed.

This video shows how my under a year old Yamaha R-N602 stereo receiver fails to properly start up from sleeping using the iPad app.

UPDATE: Today, 16-4-8, the app reported a firmware update was available. After updating the problem seems to have been resolved.
