Here we are at our 70th day with another special guest. He is a person to whom I have been linked since our youth both from a working point of view and as a friend. I feel a lot of admiration for him because, in addition to being a great musician, guitarist and jazz expert like few others, he created what is the musical school of reference for the city of Bari and for the whole regional area: the Pentagramma. Thanks to its preparation, obstinacy, farsightedness, sociability in human relationships and skills in public relations, the Pentagramma is now known throughout the country as one of the best music schools. This is why I am flattered to collaborate with him in this structure since the day he opened the shutter for the first time. We were just over twenty years old at the time, 35 years have passed and there has never been a quarrel, not even a small one, never a problem. With him I also formed the first organ trio together with Mimmo Campanale, the Con Alma trio, with which we recorded two CDs and did many concerts, also accompanying artists such as Jerry Bergonzi, Jim Snidero, Gianni Basso, Fabrizio Bosso, Max Ionata, etc. I am speaking, for those who have not understood it, of Guido Di Leone. Together with Guido we chose to play today a beautiful song that we recorded on our first CD. It's called "The nearness of you", and is a composition of the great Hoagy Carmichael, author of many wonderful songs such as Georgia on my mind, Stardust and Skylark. LIVE FROM MY ROOM - 70° giorno
Ed eccoci alla nostra “settantena” con un altro ospite speciale. E’ una persona alla quale sono legato sin dalla nostra gioventù sia dal punto di vista lavorativo che come amico. Provo per lui tanta ammirazione in quanto, oltre ad essere un grande musicista, chitarrista ed esperto di jazz come pochi, ha creato quella che è la scuola musicale di riferimento per la città di Bari e per tutta l’area regionale: il Pentagramma. Grazie alla sua preparazione, ostinazione, lungimiranza, socievolezza nei rapporti umani e abilità nelle pubbliche relazioni, il Pentagramma è ormai conosciuto anche in tutto il territorio nazionale come tra le migliori scuole di musica. Per questo sono lusingato di collaborare con lui in questa struttura sin dal giorno in cui ha aperto la saracinesca per la prima volta. Avevamo allora poco più di vent’anni, ne sono passati 35 e non c’è mai stato un litigio, nemmeno uno piccolo, mai un problema. Con lui ho inoltre formato il primo organ trio insieme a Mimmo Campanale, il Con Alma trio, col quale abbiamo inciso due CD e abbiamo fatto tantissimi concerti, accompagnando anche artisti come Jerry Bergonzi, Jim Snidero, Gianni Basso, Fabrizio Bosso, Max Ionata, ecc. Sto parlando, per chi non lo avesse capito, di Guido Di Leone. Con Guido abbiamo scelto insieme di suonare oggi un bellissimo brano che abbiamo inciso sul nostro primo CD. Si intitola “The nearness of you”, ed è una composizione del grande Hoagy Carmichael, autore di tante canzoni meravigliose come per esempio Georgia on my mind, Stardust e Skylark.
