The Mongolian electric car is a licensed copy of the Chinese electric car Hengrun HRS1. The electric car, which costs between 49,800 and 79,800 yuan (7.5-11.9 thousand dollars), debuted in the Celestial Empire last summer. The new product differs from its Chinese counterpart only in emblems.
The battery model is driven by an electric motor located on the rear axle, the output of which is only 44 horsepower. Thanks to the battery with a capacity of 28.2 kilowatt-hours, the car can travel up to 189 miles without recharging. The maximum speed of the electric car is 63 miles per hour.
It is reported that the serial production of the electric car was started for the company's image purposes, so a little-known Chinese model was used as a copy.
The cost of the first national electric car in Mongolia starts at 79 million tugriks (approximately 25 thousand dollars).
