In this learn QuickBooks training video, you will learn how to manage and record leases. The lease agreement is recorded as an “estimate”. You can attach a scanned copy of the actual signed lease to the estimate in QuickBooks that reflects the lease. Each month, you will record a ‘progress invoice”. This means you will bill the customer normally for normal rent the way you learned in prior QuickBooks for landlord videos. The only difference is, you will apply that invoice to the estimate that reflects the lease. Then QuickBooks reports will be able to show you the percent complete of the estimate and the money amount complete of the estimate and how much of the lease is left.
