The world can wait - Piano Meditations (1hr)

Seeking shelter and going back inside for the first rain of autumn, while a flock of sparrows ate some of the last grapes left over on the vines. I had planned to record the beautiful “still” green forest across the hill from my window, but the mist filled the valley quite fast once the rain started dripping down.

I already recorded a take more than a week ago but when I saw the weather forecast predicted a few days of rain I just knew i wanted to wait a week longer and record one with rain.
There is something so honest about recording in the rain, the take is just exactly how it is recorded.

I had a hard time with this one, in between trying to shoot out of an open window with so many takes gone wrong with lighting/exposure but mainly playing this beautiful instrument. I started feeling pretentious when recording, who i am to record a hour on a piano. I think part of me wanted to wait for rain, for this exact reason. To justify and hopefully give you a bit of peace instead of me trying to pretend I can play piano.

So excited to head back into the mountains and start writing a different piece. I really hope to be back a bit sooner this time.
