How to rig a folding grapnel anchor for a kayak, skiff or canoe. This particular 3.5# anchor is for my 13' whaler. It should do the trick for the waters I'll be using the boat in. I really like these anchors, they are small to start with and when folded, take very little room, which in small watercraft is critical! Check out how I rig this so that I have a breakaway in case it gets stuck! They are a great solution for any small watercraft. You may want to adjust the strength of the cable ties you use depending on the craft you are using. For example, for a Kayak or Canoe you would probably want to use tie wraps with less than 20# breaking strength. For a Skiff, or small boat 40 or 50# might be appropriate.
