Okoume Wood Veneer Sheets

Описание

Widespread across the west coast countries of central Africa, Okoume grows primarily from Cameroon south to the Republic of the Congo, flourishing most abundantly – and famously – in Gabon. This reason alone is why you may also find Okoume referred to simply as "Gabon," or the slight variation: "Gaboon wood." Okoume is a classically elegant wood that darkens with age and ranges in light to a medium mahogany color. The grain is straight to slightly wavy, and when quartersawn, the wood can reveal a striped or mottled figure. A resinous wood with water-resistant qualities, Okoume is traditionally used as timber for canoes, kayaks, and boatbuilding; however, in the United States, it's used almost exclusively as a wood veneer for furniture, cabinetry, and musical instruments. #WoodVeneer #WoodVeneerSheets #Okoume
