M intellisense in Notepad++ for Power Query - Power BI Tips & Tricks #38

Intellisense is a code completion tool developed by Microsoft to help developers code faster and syntax free.

Power Query or Power BI does not have Intellisense built in yet, but it is a highly requested feature.

You can vote for Intellisense feature to be added in Power Query or Power BI here: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7202913-improve-the-advanced-query-editor

If you are writing a lot of code manually in the Advance Editor in Power Query when you write M code or if you find yourself commenting your code or the the generated code manually, you will know how useful intellisense for the M language would be.

Microsoft is implementing this, but until it is released, Lars Schreiber has written a blog post on how to turn Notepad++ into a intellisense tool for M code.
