D Chord Piano | D Major 3-note Chord (Triad) and how to do inversions of the chord.

From the chord symbol D we get this information:

D is the root note - The basis that gives name to the chord
D is a 3-note chord - a triad
D is a major chord

Because D is a 3-note chord, a triad, it also has three different inversions. An inversion means that once you have found the 3 notes of your chord - it doesn’t matter which note is at the top of the chord, in the middle of the chord - or in the bottom of the chord. As long as you only use the same three notes - it’s still the same chord.

D Chord Piano - Root inversion (Root note at the bottom of the chord): D - F# - A

D Chord Piano - 1st. inversion (Root note at the top of the chord): F" - A - D

D Chord Piano - 2nd. inversion (Root note in the middle of the chord): A - D - F#

D chord is the first chord of the X Major Scale - Notes in the scale are:
