Raymarine Axiom 9" deep water 3d with RV 100 sonar images 70 feet in Potomac river during annual shad fish run between DC Fletcher Boat House and 3 sisters Islands and Key Bridge. The deepest spot in Potomac river is 200 feet but I never found the exact location of it - comment if you know the GPS coordinates.
70 feet is deeper than most of Chesapeake bay depth.
I tried to jig fishing to catch some big river monster fish but hooked the bottom. Rest assure I will catch a big river monster jigging from these deep water to show off my catch. Maybe I will be able to show you a sea lamprey parasite fish that sucked onto Shad fish so you can see how ugly they are. The eel shaped parasite fish have teeth ALL around their mouth, 360 degrees when you open their mouth - you can see all the teeth. So sharp they don't catch food, they simply suck other big fish's blood and live on their victims body.
There are a ton of functions in this expensive and sophisticated 3D fish finder (fishermen's toy) , Next time I will try these functions of Raymarine LightHouse Update 3.4.66:
(1) Quad sonar view - 4 sonar views in 1 screen (traditional sonar, down vision, side vision, and 3D)
(2) 10 minutes history view and increase sensitivity to see the sonar view of fish and bottom structure better
(3) Live charting from my Navionics + chart
(4) A-Scope to see how much area my transducer is covering,
(5) Side scan range should be set at about 3 to 5 times of water depth
(6) SonarChart Live - draw my own 1 feet contour map for water I travelled and scanned
