This demonstration explains the different looks/styles when attaching a cuff in stretch fabric: add a cuff without stretching to extend a garment, add contrast band, or a turn-back cuff. Add a cuff using the stretch in the fabric to create a more fitted cuff to a garment, seen on sweat tops.
