The government once again assembles a group of inmates from Belle Reve prison, offering them a temporary reduction of their sentences in exchange for taking part in an almost suicidal operation. Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Ratcatcher 2, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and other dangerous criminals are sent to the island of Corto Maltese, where a regime that has come to power after a coup may use the secret facility Jotunheim and the Project Starfish hidden inside it. Under Amanda Waller’s control, the team must destroy the traces of the experiments, but the mission quickly turns into bloody chaos, where traitors, monsters, political secrets, and personal traumas mix with absurd humor. James Gunn’s superhero action film turns the story of villains in government service into a bold, brutal, and strangely touching adventure about those whom no one considers heroes.
